PURPOSE:To provide a heat sensitive recording medium adapted for a high speed recording and having excellent reproducibility of printing pixel in which a fine format is not collapsed by providing an intermediate layer containing many ultrafine porous organic particles of specific outer diameter between a support and a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:This heat sensitive recording medium is provided with an intermediate layer containing many ultrafine porous organic particles between a support and a recording layer. Such particles are selectively used to have 0.05-5mum of outer diameter, more desirably 0.1-3mum and most desirably 0.1-1mum. Thus, a heat sensitive recording medium having excellent reproducibility of a printing pixel can be obtained. This particle is formed of thermoplastic resin. If it is deformed by heat at the time of recording, desired effect might be lost. Accordingly, substance having 50 deg.C or higher of glass transition temperature is desirably employed. |
