PURPOSE:To positively prevent an automobile from being stolen by bringing the seat back of a driver's seat down forward when the seat is detected to have been unattended and when doors are detected to have been locked, and thereby constituting the seat that it can be locked in a brought down forward condition. CONSTITUTION:When a driver gets off an automobile and when doors are closed, firstly a seat switch 41 detects that a seat 1 has been unattended so as to output a signal, and secondly a door lock detecting switch 51 detects that the doors have been locked so as to output another signal. Then, a control device 60 allows actuating signals to be outputted after time more than a specified one (roughly 10 seconds) has elapsed since both of the signals have been inputted. The actuating signals allow a clutch type motor 12 to be operated so as to let both a holding member 9 and a locking member 10 which are meshed with a pinion 33 be moved downward. This permits both engagement between a pawl section 26 and an engaging section 18 and engagement between a pawl section 29 and a segment gear 14 to be released so that a seat back 3 is brought down forward, which situation permits the pawl section of a cylinder lock 34 to be engaged with a locking piece 15 so as to be locked. |
