PURPOSE:To construct a compacted engine by furnishing No.1 and No.2 weight at one of the halves of a crank shaft and at the other half in parallel with a crank shaft and by installing No.3 and No.4 weight at one of the halves and the other of a balance shaft rotating in opposite direction thereto and at the same speed. CONSTITUTION:When No.1 piston 51 comes to the upper/lower dead point, No.2 piston 52 comes to the lower/upper dead point. At this time, the inertia force due to reciprocative mass of the piston 51 system is offset with the synthesized centrifugal force of No.1 weights 71, 71 and No.3 weight 73. The inertia force due to reciprocative mass of the piston 52 system is alike cancelled by No.2 weights 72, 72 and No.4 weight 74. A couple of forces is applied to a crank shaft 3, but the two couples of forces are offset because a couple of forces directed oppositely to the above-mentioned inertia couple of forces is applied to a balance shaft 7. Thus the inertia force due to reciprocative mass and the inertia couple of forces are cancelled to prevent the engine body from primary vibration. This requires only one balance shaft 8. |
