CONSTITUTION:In a brake device, when compressed air is supplied from a supply and discharge port 12 to a pressure chamber 13 in an advance/retreat driving portion 1 to advance a piston 11 to the left, first the piston 11 starts advancing. At this time, as a damper 41 of a push rod 2 is separated from a wheel 40, the piston 11 is advanced nearly without little resistance. Secondly, when the damper 41 is pressed to the wheel 40 and the advance of the push rod 2 is stopped, only the piston 11 is advanced and the point of force portion 25 of a lever 3 is pressed by the front of the piston 11. Thus, the lever 3 is turned round a supporting point shaft 22, the push rod 2 is strongly driven forward through the engagement of a tooth train of an engaging portion 26 with teeth of a rack of an engaged portion 20, and the damper 41 is pressed to the wheel 40 to generate braking force.
