A single chip microcomputer has a memory formed by an EPROM, which stores the program which controls the microprocessor of the microcomputer. The EPROM has a memory containing an array of memory elements (M-ARY), which are addressed by word and data lines controlled by address signals from corresponding decodes (X DCR, Y DCR). In addition, the memory has dummy word and data lines for addressing dummy elements (DMY, DMX). By selecting the dummy (word or data) line, and having the other lines (word or data) deselected, the dummy elements can be tested, thereby permitting testing of the memory even though the other memory elements are not erasable. |
