PURPOSE:To prepare a resin compsn. with low water absorptivity and a good balance between mechanical strengths and impact resistance by mixing a polyamide resin, a polyester resin, a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and a modified elastomer together in a specified wt. ratio. CONSTITUTION:5-95 pts.wt. polyamide resin (e.g., nylon 6) is mixed with 95-5 pts.wt. polyester resin (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate). 100 pts.wt. resulting mixture is mixed with 0.01-5 pts.wt. tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (e.g., pyromellitic acid dianhydride) and 1-40 pts.wt. modified elastomer (e.g., modified hydrogenated styrene-butadiene block copolymer) to produce a polyamide resin compsn., which is injection compression and extrusion molded into moldings useful for many applications. |
