The circuit for protecting a power amplifier from reflecting power caused by a load voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) includes a bidirectional coupler for sampling the output power with high frequency and the reflecting power, a detector for obtaining voltage varied proportionally to the ripple of output power by compensating the nonlinearity of a detecting diode, an output level adjuster having a differential amplifier for comparing and amplifying the voltage corresponding to the high frequency output level and the set voltage by a standard output level and the set voltage by a standard output level adjuster, and a generator having a comparator for comparing and amplifying the voltages corresponding to the reflected power level and operating point of the protection circuit.
