PURPOSE:To prevent fluctuation of a reproduced edge at a horizontal edge and the deterioration in the vertical resolution in the case of a moving picture by processing a high frequency component of a Y signal into an interlace signal with field repetition at the sender side and processing the high frequency component into a noninterlace signal at the receiver side. CONSTITUTION:The Y signal of a television signal of noninterlace scanning system is divided into a high and a low frequency component at the sender side, and the high frequency component is subject to field interleave after averaging of inter-frame components and the horizontal scanning line being the interleaved output is retarded for one vertical scanning period to process the signal into an interlace signal. Then as to the low frequence component, the horizontal scanning line is interleaved alternately to attain interlace signal processing. Moreover, at the receiver side, the Y signal of the received signal is separated into a high and a low frequency component and the high frequency component is processed into a noninterlace signal by inter-field interpolation and field repetition and the low frequency component is subject to inter- line interpolation or inter-field interpolation in response to the movement of the picture so as to attain noninterlace signal processing. |
