PURPOSE: To reduce a space for a station in which a car body is formed and welded by setting rotating drums having a plurality of forming frames for car bodies of various types on the both sides of a conveyer line and moving the forming frames between an engaging position of the car body and the rotating drum. CONSTITUTION: Two drum members 6, 6 are located on the both sides of an operation position 1a of a welding station 1 and a means 20 with which a forming frame 8 facing the operation station 1a is carried from each drum member 8, 8 to an operation station 1a of the welding station 1 is set. And, when a car body reaches the welding station 1, a pair of forming frames 8 are brought in the operation station 1a, are engaged with and tightened to the car body and are spot welded with a welding equipment 10. The car body is delivered from the welding station 1 and exchanged for a new car body. When the car body is of a different type, the forming frames 8, 8 are returned to individual drum members 6, 6 and forming frames 8, 8 corresponding to the type of the car body are carried and engaged with a new car body and spot welded. |
