PURPOSE:To prevent defective welding by measuring respectively clamping allowances at both sides of a steel plate clamping device and comparing the difference between measured values with a predetermined prescribed value and outputting an abnormal signal when it is higher than the prescribed value to detect abnormality of clamping. CONSTITUTION:Potentiometers 3 to detect the clamping allowances are provided at both sides of upper and lower clamping bases 1 and 1a. The constant voltage from a constant voltage power unit 4 is then impressed on both ends of the potentiometers 3. The output V1 and V2 of both potentiometers 3 at the time of completing clamping are compared with a comparator 5 and when the deviation of ¦V1-V2¦ exceeds the prescribed value alpha, an alarm 6 of clamping abnormality is outputted. |
