PURPOSE:To obtain a good CSS characteristic by subjecting a lubricating layer to a heating treatment at the temp. below the decomposition temp. of a lubricating agent so that the surface of the lubricating layer after the treatment has the state of having >=70 deg. contact angle of surface tension with a standard reagent. CONSTITUTION:An NIP layer 2 formed by electroless plating, a nonmagnetic underlying layer 3 made of chromium, a magnetic layer 4 formed of a thin ferromagnetic metallic film material, a protective film 5 made of carbon and two layers of the lubricating layers 6, 7 are formed on the surface of a substrate 1 made of chromium. The heating temp. and heating time are so set as to have such a surface energy state that the heating temp. is lower than the decomposition temp. of the lubricating agent forming the lubricating 6 and the surface contact angle of the lubricating layer 6 after the heat treatment is >=70 deg. with the standard reagent of 50dyne/cm surface tension. |
