PURPOSE:To equalize processing of electric-discharge reactions carried out at various parts of the surface of a negative electrode, an improve the heavy-load electric-discharge characteristic of an organic-solvent battery by coating the peripheral part of a positive molded body which faces to the negative electrode with an insulator which is stable to an organic solvent, a light metal used for the negative electrode, and the like. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 1 is a molded body which is made by pressing into a disk-like shape a mixture prepared by mixing both a conductive agent and a binding agent into sintered manganese dioxide used as an active material. An insulator 2, which is a ring made of polypropylene and having an L-shaped section, is pressed upon the positive electrode when the electrode is subjected to pressure molding. A separator 4 is made of a nonwoven polypropylene fabric which is impregnated with electrolyte prepared by disssolving 1mol of lithium perchlorate into the solvent prepared by mixing propylene carbonate and 1,2- dimethoxyethane in a voluminal ratio of 1 to 1. |
