PURPOSE:To obtain a powdery silicon rubber composition which can directly produce a molding such as a heat dissipation plate or a heat dissipation sheet of any desired shape and excellent thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties by drying and pulverizing a non-aqueous slurry containing a silicone rubber and an inorganic filler powder. CONSTITUTION:The title powdery silicone rubber composition is formed by drying and pulverizing a non-aqueous slurry containing a silicone rubber and an inorganic filler powder. Although examples of the silicone rubber include heat vulcanizable silicone rubbers and room temperature vulcanizable silicone rubbers, the heat vulcanizable silicone rubbers are advantageous from the viewpoint of long-term stability of the obtained powdery silicone rubber composition. Examples of the inorganic filler powder include heat-conductive inorganic powders such as boron nitride, silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, silicon nitride and zinc oxide. As the non-aqueous solvent for forming said slurry, lowly toxic trichloroethane, for example, is desirable. A desirable process for drying this slurry is a flash drying process such as spray drying, which can simultaneously effect drying and powdering. |
