PURPOSE: To provide a rubber product with bar code marking excellent in abrasion resistance by focusing an electromagnetic radiation on a first surface of the rubber product under the control of a computer or an electronic word processing system and by adapting a wavelength and energy of an electromagnetic radiation source to the kind and the depth of required marking. CONSTITUTION: A bar code pattern is formed on a rubber product 2 by using an electromagnetic radiation source. In order to form a desired bar code pattern 4 on the surface of the rubber product 2, that is, on a first surface 12, a radiation of the radiation source is controlled by a computer or an electronic word processing system and focused thereon. A wavelength and energy of the radiation source is adapted to the kind and the depth of marking to be formed on the rubber product 2. The properties of the marking are determined by the kind of a local permanent physical change in the material of the rubber product which constitutes the pattern to be formed. The bar code marking 4 in the rubber product 2 is made up of completely or partially piercing openings 6 and 8, that is, the openings from which the rubber material is removed in a state of gas according to the shape of the bar code pattern. |
