Method for raising buildings by reinforcing the original superstructure by means of vertical metal bars 6 of suitable cross-section 2 introduced into vertical holes 1 made by the drilling technique, from the top of the walls as far as the foundations, in places which are statically capable of supporting the new structure, and preferably in the intersections of the walls. The drilling is carried out using corers 3 actuated by motors 4 situated on a frame 5 fixed on the last level of the building. The gap in the holes between bars and walls is filled, if appropriate, with cement mortar 7. To counter the buckling of the assembly, use is made of horizontal trusses and cross-walls. The foundations can be reinforced likewise by inclusion of drilled bars. The new structure could be made up of slab floors cast in place and raised along extended columns, as is the roof, with the aid of winches or jacks. <IMAGE>
