PURPOSE:To provide a screw press of a small size and high accuracy which reduces friction and improves durability by forming the engaging surfaces of a slider which moves vertically by screwing to a perpendicular screw shaft coupled to a rotor of a flat pneumatic motor and a ram to be suspended by the same into arc surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A flat pneumatic motor 2 having a rotor 5 serving also as a flywheel is provided to the top surface of a skelton type frame 1, and a perpendicular screw shaft 15 is fixed to the rotating center of the rotor 5. The internal screw part 16 of a slider 17 guided in a vertical direction by a guiding groove 19 is screwed onto the external screw part 14 of said screw shaft. A ram 20 is suspended from the slider 17, and the engaging surfaces 25a, 25b thereof assume an arc shape, and pressing surfaces are formed of an upper die 23a mounted to the lower part of a ram 20 and the die lower 23 mounted to a saw block 22. Said ram 20 has no plays and permits accurate press working. A play is provided to the slider 17 in a horizontal direction and the motor 2 is supported slightly tiltably with an elastic supporting unit 12, whereby the clattering generated in the slider 17 is absorbed. |
