PURPOSE:To densify a zirconium phosphate sintered product by using a IIIa group element oxide and a Va group element oxide as sintering auxiliaries. CONSTITUTION:The sindered product comprises 0.1-10wt.% of one kind or more of IIIa group elements, 0.1-8% of one kind or more of Va group elements and the remaining amounts of oxygen and zirconium phosphate. The sintered product is prepared, for example, by mixing 0.11-15% of one kind or more of IIIa group element oxides and 0.14-15% of one kind or more of Va group element oxides with 70-99.75% of zirconium phosphate, molding the mixture and subsequently sintering the molded product at 1500-1650 deg.C for 0.1-5hr. The use of the IIIa and Va group element compounds as the sintering auxiliaries and the production of the product through the different treatments permit to readily obtain the zirconium phosphate having a high strength and a low thermal expansion coefficient. |
