The invention relates to a silencer for exhaust systems of internal-combustion engines. The interior of an outer casing (1) is divided by a convex transverse wall (6) into a chamber (3) on the inflow side and a coaxial chamber (4) into which an inlet tube (8) and an outlet tube (13) open.
