PURPOSE: To dispense with another plastic sheet functioning as a base of a microwave reactive agent by a method wherein a cellulose sheet transparent to a microwave 13 coated with a substance reactive to the microwave which is heated when exposed to microwave energy. CONSTITUTION: A base sheet 14 is formed of a fibrous cellulose sheet transmitting a microwave which is stable thermally, dimensionally and in respect to properties as a dielectric at the time when it is exposed to microwave energy in a microwave oven. One surface of the base sheet 14 is made smooth sufficiently to eliminate discontinuity so that a bend or a spark may not occur when a coated sheet is heated with the microwave. A microwave reactive layer applied by coating in a liquid or vapor state on the surface of the base sheet 14 contains a microwave reactive component being heated when exposed to the microwave energy, and transfers heat.
