A monitoring circuit is proposed for monitoring electrical parameters of a voltage supply for voltage drop, overvoltage and short-circuit, as can be used, for example, in space technology when high reliability is required. If one or both electrical parameters depart from a specified range, then a voltage coming from a high-impedance voltage source becomes active and, via the control electrode (G) of a power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (power MOS-FET) (11) makes the power MOS-FET (11) highly resistive and thereby breaks a supply line (13) leading to the consumer (8).
