PURPOSE:To simplify the input of retrieving information, to reduce work quantity and to improve reliability by extracting only the picture data of small pictures with a picture processing unit, and housing the picture data of the small pictures to a spot to be separated from the housing spot of picture data to include a main picture. CONSTITUTION:The housed picture data of the small pictures are presented to an operator as the picture by a display device 35 of a picture retrieval control device. Then, in case of character and figure information in the small pictures, namely, in case of an X-ray film picture 1, a desired picture can be extracted according to the name, ID number, age of a patient and a photograph date, etc., which are copied to a name print 11 and in case of a roll film for X-ray indirect photograph, the desired picture is extracted according to a number which is correspondent to the picture. Then, by inputting an instruction to display the main picture which corresponds to the small pictures, the desired picture can be referred. When much higher retrieving function is needed, since the operator inputs the more detailed retrieving information in correspondence to the presented small pictures, the picture data of the correspondent main picture and the detailed retrieving information can be made correspondent. |
