PURPOSE:To obtain in high efficiency the objective copolymer crosslinkable with water by polymerization between butene-1 and an alkenylsilane using a catalyst comprising an organoaluminum catalyst and a transition metal catalyst with a titanium halide carried on a magnesium halide, followed by separation of the product unreacted from the system which is used for the next polymerization. CONSTITUTION:Using a catalyst, as a stereoregular catalyst, comprising an organoaluminum (e.g., triethylaluminum) and a transition metal catalyst with a titanium halide (e.g., titanium tetrachloride) carried on a magnesium halide (e.g., magnesium chloride), a copolymerization is carried out in the absence of inert hydrocarbon medium between butene-1 and an alkenylsilane (e.g., vinylsilane). After the polymerization, the monomer unreacted is separated from the resultant copolymer and directly used for the next batch of polymerization, thus obtaining the objective copolymer in high efficiency. |
