PICTURE FORMING DEVICE FOR ELECTRO-PHOTOGRAPHIC SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of picture forming by discriminating a picture area of a video data formed by a controller section to stop the electro- photographic processing by an engine section to a subscanning direction other than the picture area. CONSTITUTION:Print information from a host 40 is received and a CPU 23 in a controller section 20 generates a data in the unit of pages on a video buffer in a RAM 25. Then the picture area of the buffer is discriminated and the distance of the print and non print parts in the subscanning direction when a picture is transferred on paper are calculated. Then a dot number A from a tip (a) of a print enable area corresponding to the paper size to the tip print position (b) and a dot number B from the position (b) to the last end print position (c) are calculated and they are converted into time respectively. Then a CPU in the engine driver 30 stops the processing of the non print part based on the time to improve the picture forming efficiency and reduce the running cost.
