Method and device for the germicidal treatment of aqueous or granular goods

For the germicidal treatment of aqueous or granular goods the latter are exposed to UV radiation during movement along a transport path. At the same time, the goods are acted upon during movement in such a way that essentially all the regions or particles of the goods are exposed to the UV radiation. A treatment device for goods having a pasty consistency can comprise UV radiation sources (1) arranged on one or both sides of the transport path formed by interacting transport rollers (2). The speed and direction of rotation of the transport rollers (2) can be adjusted independently of one another with the result that alternate surfaces of the goods are exposed to UV radiation and the layer thickness of the goods is simultaneously reduced in the transport direction. In the case of granular goods, the transport path can be designed as a transport belt along which there are turning devices which ensure that the goods are turned during UV irradiation. <IMAGE>
