In the case of a fan heater having a housing for receiving a fan and an electric heating register, the housing of which is adjustably arranged on a base part for changes in direction of the fan exhaust-air flow, in order to achieve a safe air flow rate eliminating the risk of overheating, the housing (1) is formed by a prismatic front housing part (1') having an exhaust-air opening and a rear housing part (1'') in the form of a truncated pyramid and having supply-air openings (5) arranged in the mutually opposite upright side walls (3', 3''), and the supply-air openings (5) are partially covered by a number of strips (4) constructed at a distance next to one another and the housing (1) is designed so as to be pivotable and rotatable on a base part (7). <IMAGE>
