Classes 52(2) and 52(4) In a bed-settee in which the contour of the load supporting means is variable by altering the position of its lateral connections with side panels, the panels are pivoted from a seat position into alignment to form a bed. As shown, mesh panels A, B are pivotally interconnected at 13 and are secured by a withdrawable bolt or pin at 14 which is transferred to the upper rear corner of panels A when the chair is converted into a bed. Rigid cross rails 11 unite the panels to form the chair framework. Tension springs 12 are hooked into the mesh and may be replaced by flexibly interconnected cross-bars or a sheet of canvas which may or may not be reinforced by rigid horizontal slats. The mesh panels may be replaced by perforated metal sheets or metal sheets having pressed out projections to receive hook attachments. |
