For editing digital audio signals recorded on magnetic tape in accordance with the standard of the European Broadcast Union, Tech 3252-E, time-leading playback magnetic heads are provided on the circumference of a rotating body. To reduce the crosstalk into the leading playback heads forced by neighbouring recording and erasing heads, the record and erase heads are arranged on the circumference of the rotating body at such an angular distance from the leading playback magnetic head that, during the reading operation of the audio signals, the possibility of simultaneous recording and erasing in the track sections provided for the audio signals is ruled out.
