<p>Sacrificial anode with consumption indicator and iron core for water tanks and water heaters, whereby, after the anode has been consumed in a socket-shaped fastening means mounted on a tank wall, a consumption indicator in the form of a piston-like signalling pin is driven out partly from the tank contour by incoming water. To this end, a colour change cartridge (12, 13) of transparent material arranged on the tank (8) is filled with a chemical which changes to a red signalling colour on penetration of water. In the anode (1), water is supplied to the colour change cartridge by a wick (7) which fills a blind hole (3) and the fastening means (6) while expelling the air contained therein. The iron core (4) of the anode is arranged outside the axis of the anode.</p> |
