PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition for wiper seal having good colorability and improved weather resistance, ozone resistance, sealing performance, applicability and flexibility by compounding a chlorine-containing polyethylene-type weather-resistant synthetic rubber with a specific amount of partially crosslinked natural rubber. CONSTITUTION:The objective rubber composition for wiper seal suitable especially to be used in a large-sized open-top water tank, etc., to prevent the contamination of stored liquid is produced by compounding (A) 75-95 pts.wt. of a chlorine-containing polyethylene-type weather-resistant synthetic rubber (preferably chlorosulfonated polyethylene), (B) 5-25 pts.wt. of a partially crosslinked natural rubber having a crosslinking ratio of preferably 80% and, as necessary, (C) proper amounts of silica, calcium carbonate, plasticizer (e.g., DOP), wax and vulcanization accelerator and dispersing and mixing the components with a kneader, Banbury mixer, etc. |
