PURPOSE:To reduce the occupied area of a machine tool and to facilitate the operation with simple structure by providing a safety guard vertically moved along a guide part on the circumference of a pallet carry in and out work stage. CONSTITUTION:Safety is secured by shielding a pallet carry in and out work stage 3 from the perimeter with a safety guard 5a being located at a lift position. In case of a pallet carry in and out work at the work stage 3, the safety guard 5a is located at a descent position, the upper edge thereof is pull down to the level lower than the work stage 3, the vertical movement is lightened by balancing the dead weight of the safety guard 5a by a mass balancer device of a spring, etc. and the safety guard 5a is made movable up and down by a manual operation. Also, the safety guard 5a reached to the lift position is surely locked at the lift position by a mechanical stopper 15 capable of releasing manually of a movable notch, etc. and composed so as to detect the end part position of the ascent and descent thereof by a limit switch 20 and to interlock the operation of an automatic pallet changing device with the detection signal thereof. |
