APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRODUCT BY KNITTING FIBER STRAND TOGETHER

PURPOSE: To simplify a fiber take-off apparatus by moving respective fiber strand carrier members on a quadratic carrier surface in a prescribed pattern and taking off the braided fiber strands from the carrier surface. CONSTITUTION: Each of plural supporting members 12 arranged side-by-side has an inner curvilinear surface 12a delineating the carrier surface 15 of a partially cylindrical shape as a whole. Actuators 14 are respectively connected to both ends of the respective supporting members 12 and the supporting members 12 are moved stepwise in an arrow A direction during the braiding work. The fiber strand carrier members 16 are inserted into the respective tracks 12b of the curvilinear surface 12a and the respective fiber strands 28 are passed through a fiber gathering device 50 on a common gathering point P above the carrier surface 15. The carrier members 16 are moved into the arrow mark T direction by an actuator 70. The differences in the distances from the respective carrier members to the common gathering point P may be minimized.
