PURPOSE:To eliminate a pseudo echo from a reflecting plate by tapering surfaces facing a transducer except respective small-piece reflecting surfaces and providing a concave or convex surface plate at a position opposite the transducer. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting plate 21 is formed in an L shape, and the fitting plate 25 is formed on its one flank and fixed to an internal cylinder 15 with a fitting bolt 26. The reflecting surface of the reflecting plate 21 consists of small-piece reflecting surfaces 22, 23...24, which consist of surfaces 22a, 23a...24a facing the transducer and surfaces 22b, 23b...24b which are tapered not to face the transducer. In this case, they are tapered to at least width larger than the width of an ultrasonic beam. Further, the transducer and respective small- piece reflecting surfaces 22, 23...24 are at different distances. Further, the fitting plate for the reflecting plate 21 at the position facing the transducer is made concave or convex not to face the transducer. Consequently, the pseudo echo from the reflecting plate 21 is eliminated to improve the discrimination accuracy of an echo. |
