PURPOSE:To facilitate circulation without changing the circulating direction of electrolyte by disposing a positive and negative cell chambers vertically, thereby enabling the electrolyte to flow in each cell horizontally. CONSTITUTION:Positive and negative cell chambers 2, 3 are superposed vertically so that an electrolyte can flow in each cell chamber horizontally. In this case, the air in the chambers can be pushed out to tanks 9, 10 easily irrespect of the circulating direction upon pouring-in of electrolyte. Since the electrolyte flows in the chambers 2, 3 horizontally, it can move evenly from the inlet to the outlet of chambers even if a reaction product with a large specific gravity is generated so that it is not necessary to limit the circulating direction at normal operation performing charging/dischaging. It is thus not necessary to change the circulating direction both at normal operation performing charging/ discharging as well as at pouring-in of electrolyte. |
