PURPOSE:To obtain the subject material which has high sensitivity and excellent pressure withstanding property at the time of exposing the material with high illuminance for a short time, and improved carrier property by mounting a backing layer contg. a specified mat agent on the opposite side of a photosensitive layer contd. in the photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material comprises a silver halide emulsion layer mounted on a supporting body, and contains polyhydroxy benzenes in the emulsion layer, and the silver halide emulsion contd. in the emulsion layer contains an iridium salt in an amount of 10<-6>-10<-9>mol per 1mol of silver. And the backing layer which contains the mat agent contg. >=30vol.% of particles having a particle size of >=5mum is mounted on the opposite side of the photosensitive layer. In this case, the silver halide contd. in the silver halide emulsion layer is used silver chloride, silver chlorobromide, silver bromide, silver iodobromide or silver chloroiodobromide. Thus, the obtd. photosensitive material has the high sensitivity at the time of exposing the material with the high illuminance and the excellent carrier property. |
