PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting photoconductive material having both superconductivity and photoconductivity at <= critical temp. for exhibiting superconductivity by using an oxide of a specified compsn. contg. Ba, Pb, and Bi. CONSTITUTION:The title superconducting photoconductive material is expressed by the general formula: Ba-Pb1-XBiXOZ (wherein x=0.35-1; z=2.7-3) having potential superconductivity at <=14 deg.K having also photoconductivity at <=160 deg.K in 500-700nm region of wavelength of exciting light depending on the value of x. The material is formed by heating a starting material having a compsn. expressed by the general formula: Ba-Pb1-XBiX-OZ (wherein x=0.35-1; z=2.7-3 with the proviso that conditions where x<=0.35 and z=2.81-3 simultaneously are excluded) at 750-850 deg.C for 2-10hr where a solid phase reaction is caused on the starting material. The product is cooled slowly and then molded under pressure, then sintered secondarily at 500-850 deg.C for 2-10hr, and held further for each 2-3hr at 600 deg.C and 500 deg.C respectively, and cooled extremely quickly at 150-900 deg.C/sec cooling rate or at 150-200 deg.C/hr cooling rate. |
