PURPOSE:To obtain an optical disc having high sensitivity of reading recorded information by using a polyetherimide resin having specified repeating units as a base material for an optical disc. CONSTITUTION:The title optical disc is formed of a base material wherein a polyetherimide resin of formula I (wherein R<1> is a group of formulas II-V, etc.; n is a number-average degree of polymn. and in the range of 5-5,000) is a main component. It is not pref. when n in formula I is smaller than 5, because the optical disc tends to undergo deformation such as warpage and twist, and when n exceeds 5,000, because the moldability as the base material for the optical disc is lowered. In addition, to improve the release from a stamper for transferring pits, an auxiliary such as a silicone, a wax, a fatty acid, an ester of a fatty acid, a metal salt of a fatty acid and an aliph. alcohol and an antistatic auxiliary such as a sulfonate or quaternary ammonium salt of a higher alcohol can be incorporated. |
