PURPOSE:To increase the resistance to the slipping-out of an oil seal for heightening the slipping-out load by constituting the title sealant by making the main component of latex, and mixing thereto a fine powder having a hardness at least equivalent to that of light metals. CONSTITUTION:A sealant 1 makes the main component of rubber latex of a good adhesiveness in which silane coupling agent is mixed, and is produced by mixing thereto a fine powder consisting of a material having a hardness at least equivalent to that of light metals such as aluminum and magnesium for housing material. When the sealant 1 of such composition is applied to the fitting surface 3 on the outer circumferential part of an outer metal fitting type oil seal 2, an excellent function can be displayed. In other words, even in such a case that a housing made of a light metal such as aluminum having a large thermal expansion coefficient is heated to be subjected to thermal expansion, the resistance to the slipping-out of the oil seal can be significantly increased because of the bite of the fine powder into the inner wall of the housing, thus the slipping-out load can be remarkably heightened. |
