PURPOSE:To form the title carbon-contg. refractory material having excellent resistance to the corrosion of the slag having a wide range of basicity and resistance to oxidation and thermal and mechanical shock by incorporating Al or an Al alloy and a mixture of carbon fiber and alumina fiber into an Al2O3-SiC-C based refractory material. CONSTITUTION:The carbon fiber and alumina fiber in 95/5-5/95 weight ratio is added by 0.1-10wt.% (outer percentage) to an Al2O3-SiC-C based refractory material contg. 5-30wt.% graphite, 2-20wt.% SiC, 0.5-10wt.% and Al or an Al alloy, and the balance alpha-alumina to form the carbon-contg. refractory material. The grain size of the Al or Al alloy is preferably controlled to <=200 mesh, the diameter of the fiber to 1-50mum, and the length to 0.1-30mm. |
