PURPOSE:To enhance the differential pressure resistant characteristics of a magnetic fluid seal device by providing a ball piece with at least two magnetic disks, and setting the clearance between the inner circumferential surfaces of the magnetic disks and the outer circumferential surface of a magnetic rotator at a specific value. CONSTITUTION:Each of ball pieces 71, 72 is constituted as a disk pack in which first magnetic disks 71a and second magnetic disks 71b, or first magnetic disks 72a and second magnetic disks 72b are alternately and closely laminated. The clearance h between the inner circumferential surfaces of the first magnetic disks 71a, 72a and the outer circumferential surface of a large diameter part 2b is determined to be less than the thickness t of each of the second magnetic disks 71b, 72b. Further, this clearance h is determined to be greater than 20mum. Thus, the differential pressure resistant characteristic between the primary side and the secondary side of the magnetic fluid seal device can be enhanced. |
