PURPOSE:To prevent the impossibility of transmission by providing plural memories with a different access time and memory reading means to execute the memory reading of a picture signal while the memories are selected and storing the picture signal of the original having many transmission desitinations to a memory having a short access time. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile store and forward exchange 1 is connected through plural channels to an exchange network 2. At the exchange 1, a CPU 11 to execute the control of the device as a whole, a communication control part 12 to execute the facsimile communication by the prescribed facsimile transmission control procedure, a magnetic disk device 13 and a main memory 14 which is a semiconductor memory are provided. The CPU 11 functions as a memory reading means based on the program. When the picture signal of the original having many transmission destinations is transmitted, the memory having a short access time is selected and stored, and even when the access is concentrated. increase in waiting time is inhibited. Thus, when the picture signal of the same original is multiple-address-communicated to plural destinations, the transmission being made impossible, hardly occurs. |
