<p>PURPOSE:To prevent evaporation of moisture in the interior of a food, e.g. raw vegetable, etc., and sustain freshness of a food for a long period, by covering the food body, e.g. the raw vegetable, etc., with a polyvinyl alcohol film containing a highly water absorbing resin. CONSTITUTION:A food obtained by covering the food body, e.g. raw vegetable, etc., with a polyvinyl alcohol film containing a highly water absorbing resin. Examples of the applied food body include any of food which is referred to as a perishable vegetable or used in a raw state for food and mainly raw vegetables, e.g. onion, eggapple, tomato, asparagus, cabbage, lettuce, etc., and fruits, e.g. apple, banana, mandarin orange, melon, etc., may be cited. The highly water absorbing resin is a high polymer capable of absorbing and holding water in an amount of 100 times or more based on the own weight and examples thereof include starch-acrylate graft copolymer, self-crosslinked polyacrylate, etc.</p> |
