PURPOSE:To record required information of balance and others on a card to enable a user to easily and visually recognize the information by a method wherein a reversible thermal recording material layer of the prepaid card is selectively heated to a first or second specific temp., and information is recorded on the thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:After or with an information recording X on a magnetic recording layer of a card 1, a thermal recording material layer 2 is heated substantially uniform up to a second specific temp. (e.g. 80 deg.C) by a heating means 6, thereby becoming opaque white all over the surface thereof. In this manner, information which has been recorded until now is erased. Thereafter, the layer 2 having no recording information thereon is cooled and selectively heated up to a first specific temp. (e.g. 60 deg.C) by a selective heating means 5, thereby becoming transparent in part. Then, a new information recording Y is conducted on the layer 2. As the heating means 6, a heating roller system or the like having a heating roller 11, a back roller 12, and a heating source 13 is employed. As the selective heating means 5, a serial-type thermal head or the like is used. |
