PURPOSE:To obtain an optical information recording medium superior in tracking accuracy by specifying the dimension of the depth of a grove or pit of a substrate coated with an organic solution of a dye or dye composition. CONSTITUTION:An optical information recording medium is provided with a recording layer 1 mainly composed of a dye or dye composition on a substrate 3 having guide grooves 2 or wobbled pits, furthermore being provided with an undercoat layer, a protective layer, and others, as necessary. When the undercoat layer is applied by coating, the depth of the guide grooves or wobbled pits after the coating of the undercoat layer or the recording layer is determined to be lambda8/n+ or -10nm (where lambda represents a wavelength of a regenerated light, and (n) represents the refractive index of the substrate). In addition, for the material of the substrate, a glass and a plastic are preferably used. These materials are provided with guide grooves or wobbled pits by a photopolymerizing method, a casting method, an injection molding method, or the like. |
