PURPOSE:To dispense with a highly accurate optical system or a motor of high speed rotation in an exposure system by mounting a liquid crystal head control mechanism for controlling the liquid crystal shutter of a liquid crystal head to change over said head to the one for a copier or printer. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal head control mechanism 2 controls the liquid crystal shutter 11 of a liquid crystal head 1 to change over said head to the one for a copier or printer and, when said liquid crystal head 1 is used for the copier, there is no signal from the liquid crystal head control mechanism 2 and light is allowed to pass through said head 1. The light passing through the liquid crystal head 1 passes through a rod lens array 4 to expose a photosensitive body 7. At this time, the white part to which light is applied of a manuscript is not formed into an image on the photosensitive body 7 and the black part to which no light is applied of the manuscript is formed into an image. Next, when the liquid crystal head 1 is used in a printer, the shutter 11 is opened at the same time when a light source 3 lights. Therefore, the light passing through the liquid crystal head 1 and the rod lens array 4 is formed into an image due to a dot matrix on the photosensitive body 7. At this time, no image is formed at a light applied place (where there is no signal from the liquid crystal head control mechanism 2). |
