<p>PURPOSE:To smoothen the flow of engine cooling air without soiling the feet and clothing of an operator by installing a foot board connected with the body cover and the front and rear fenders of a saddle type compact automobile, and forming an opening in the body cover. CONSTITUTION:A body cover 28 covering up the engine of a saddle type automobile and a front fender 32 and a rear fender 34 covering a front and a rear wheels 10, 12 are connected continuously. The front and rear parts of a foot board 36 and its sides inside the car body rise upward, and the rising portions are connected with the front and rear fenders 32, 34 and the body cover 28. An opening 42 is formed at a position off to the upward behind a crankshaft 14a across the junction of the foot board 36 and the body cover 28, facing toward the side of a cylinder 14c and a carburetor 18. The flow of cooling air is therefore smooth since a part of it passes through the opening 42. Furthermore, no dirty water or pebbles scatter over the face of footrests since the foot board 36 is continuous.</p> |
