PURPOSE:To perform the guidance from a present positon to a destination excellently, by displaying the approximate direction to the destination at a part outside the effective display area of a map on a screen. CONSTITUTION:Based on the output of a distance detector 2, which detects the moving distance of a moving body, and the output of a direction detector 1, which detects the direction of the movement, the positon of the moving body on a two dimensional coordinate is computed by a signal processor 3. A map is read from a microfilm 5 by an image pickup device 6 and displayed on a display device 7 together with the position data of the moving body which is stored in a moving locus memory device 4. Based on the operation input command from an operating device 8, a base point A and a destination point B are set on a screen 20 of the display device 7. The signal processing device 3 judges the direction of the destination point B viewed from the base point A, drives one of direction display parts 21 for the up and down, right and left, and slant directions, which are provided around the screen 20, and displays the approximate direction to the destination. |
