The invention relates to a phytoprotective composition which possesses fungicidal activity and which contains, as the active constituent, 1-80% by weight of a substituted alkoxycarbonyldithiocarbamate of the formula I in which R1 and R2 are identical or different and denote hydrogen, allyl, cyclohexyl, methoxyethyl, ethoxypropyl, butoxypropyl, isononyloxypropyl or dimethylaminopropyl, and R3 denotes straight-chain or branched alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms or halogenophenyl; in a mixture together with 10-90% by weight of solid and/or liquid diluent and 1-30% by weight of additive, preferably surfactants. The novel compounds of the formula I can be obtained by reacting a salt of a substituted dithiocarbamic acid of the formula II in which R1 and R2 have the abovementioned meanings and X denotes an ammonium ion or an amine residue, with a chloroformic ester of the formula III in which R3 is straight-chain or branched alkyl having 1- 4 carbon atoms or halogenophenyl, in an aqueous medium at a temperature of [illegible]-60 DEGREE C, with compounds of the formula I being obtained in a manner known per se.
