PURPOSE:To rapidly and stably form color images having the high max. density and the low min. density by subjecting a photosensitive material contg. silver halide particles which are not previously fogged to a fogging processing in a proper period. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material is provided with >=1 layers of emulsion layers contg. the internal latent image type silver halide particles the particle surfaces of which consist essentially of silver chloride and are not previously fogged and color image forming couplers. After this photosensitive material is subjected to image exposing, the surfaces of the silver halide particles are processed by a soln. contg. bromide in a 1st stage and are developed by a developing soln. which contains an arom. primary amine color developing agent and contains substantially no bromide in the 2nd stage. The surfaces thereof are then subjected to the fogging processing in any period from the start of the 1st stage before the end of the 2nd stage, by which the direct positive color images are formed. The addition of the fogging agent to the processing liquid or the emulsion layers is possible. |
