PURPOSE:To obtain a hair tonic, containing one or more extracts of crude drugs and one or more specific surfactants and excellent in promoting effects on prevention of depilation, production, growth of hair, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective substance obtained by containing one or more extracts of crude drugs, one or more anionic surfactants (e.g., fatty acid soap or alkyl sulfonate) and one or more surfactants (e.g., dimethyllaurylamine oxide or carboxy betaine) having nitrogen in the molecule other than anionic surfactants, mixing the extracts with normally used ingredients and preparing a formulation according to a conventional method. The amounts of the above- mentioned ingredients are 0.005-10wt.% extracts of the crude drugs expressed in terms of dried substances and 0.001-10wt.% surfactants. The crude drugs are selected from the group consisting of Swertiae Herba, Ligustici Radix, Ginseng Radix, Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Pruni Persicae Semen, Capsicum, Rumex japonicus Houtt., aloe, Zanthoxyli Fructus, Evodiae Fructus, lycii cortex, Artemisia princeps Pamp., sinapis semen, Oryza sativa L., viticis fructus, Rosmarinus officinalis L., drynariae rhizoma, Cytisus scoparius Link., Gentiana scabra Bunge var. orientalis Hara, Salviae Militiorrbhizae Radix, etc. |
