PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity of an emulsion to exposure with He-Ne laser by incorporating a specified hypercolor sensitizer and a spectral sensitizing dye. CONSTITUTION:The title emulsion contains a compd. (A) or a salt thereof and a spectral sensitizing dye. The compd. A renders <=1.0X10<5> molecular extinction coefft. at 624nm to an aq. soln. prepd. by mixing 2ml. soln. contg. 4.0X10<-4>mol/l anhydro-5, 5'-dichloro-9-ethyl-3, 3'-bis (3-sulfopropyl) thiaca rbocyanine hydroxide.pyridinium salt with 1ml aq. soln. contg. 1.0X10<-1>mol/l KCl, adding 4ml aq. soln. contg. 8.0X10<-2>mol/l of the compd. A to the mixed soln. and diluting them with water to 10ml in total. A compd. represented by the formula may be used as the compd. A. |
